Joy Broe
Joy Broe was born in New York City in 1948.
She is the only child of working parents. Joy displayed an
early interest and talent in art and she was accepted to New
York's acclaimed High School of Music and Art.

She later graduated from New York's School of Music and Art
in 1965. Joy then attended Clairmont Secretarial School in
New York. Joy was then presented with the opportunity to live
in Europe where she visited as many cultural places as possible.
She was very impressed with the European love and respect
of history and the arts. Joy was greatly influenced by the
French Impressionists.

After returning to the States, Joy worked in various professions.
She drifted along through life not completely satisfied with
her career. Then, Joy met an artist who was making a living
selling his own art work. He taught her silk screening and
then she began producing and selling her own art work. Joy's
greatest satisfaction at that time was being able to make
a living with her art. Many years passed, however, before
she was completely happy with the work she produced.
Now, Joy believes her strong points are design and color.
She does not try to capture reality. Instead, Joy strives
to impart a sense of emotion and feelings of tranquility and
positive vibes. She derives a great sense of satisfaction
knowing that her art pleases the consumer. Joy also hopes
that her art invokes an emotional response through it's design
elements and color compatibility. Through the pursuit of strengthening
her own capabilities, Joy has developed great respect for
artistic techniques and craftsmanship.
